There's no calm after storm as Blazers, Devils lock horns

The First Division match between Boulevard and North Village, which was hit by the storm on October 16, has been rescheduled for tonight at Devonshire Rec.

starting at 8 p.m.

The encounter will serve as a prelude to the Martonmere Cup semi-final between the same teams at the same venue next Tuesday. Both teams are in the bottom half of the league standings, Village sixth on two points and Boulevard eighth on one point, both from two matches.

A win for the Red Devils will lift them into the top four in the standings while Boulevard are also anxious for a victory having failed to record one in four league and cup matches so far under new coach Danny Seymour.

Boulevard lost their last match to Dandy Town though they still managed to advance to the semi-finals of the Martonmere Cup of which they are the defending champions. Their hopes of victory will depend on how much they can penetrate a Village defence that is anchored by Clifford Roberts and Derek Bell.

However, they are expected to take to the field without key striker Kenny Hill, who who picked up his third booking of the season last week when he was needlessly booked for kicking the ball away in injury time as it was being returned for a Dandy Town freekick.

Hill was also booked in the matches against PHC and Dandy Town and will miss one match.

The other match hit by the bad weather on October 16, a Second Division encounter between Hamilton Parish and Somerset Eagles, has yet to be rescheduled by the BFA.
