CRICKET CRI St. David's claimed the Shell Youth Cricket League title Saturday as they easily disposed of previously unbeaten Nationals by nine wickets at Lords.
None of the visiting batsmen were allowed to get into double figures as the St. David's bowlers were deadly accurate, reducing their opponents to their lowest total of the season, 27.
Kameron Fox, the fourth bowler used, led the way with figures of three for three from only two overs. Others sharing in Nationals' demise were Toks Atiba and Burton Outerbridge, each claiming two wickets.
St. David's wasted little time in reaching such a small target and despite losing Angelo Cannonier for nought were never in trouble with Chris Foggo (24) and Outerbridge (4) polishing of the required runs.
St. David's now enter the semifinals of the Shell Youth Tournament Elimination Series firmly favoured. The dates for matches in this tournament will be announced next week.
