Bermuda women's trip to the Bahamas has descended into farce after seven teams pulled out of this weekend's 2009 Eastern Caribbean Amateur Softball Tournament.

Golf $15k prize

Of the 10 teams scheduled to play, just three, Bermuda, Bahamas, and Turks & Caicos remain. The trio will now play a round robin format, with the winner advancing to the final, and the other two playing-off for the right to join them.

Play begins tonight when Bermuda will take on T&C at 7pm, with the Bahamas playing Bermuda at 8.30pm.

The Gosling's Invitational just got a little bit more exciting for the professionals taking part in next month's tournament.

A senior purse of $15,000 has been added to the Belmont event, that runs from November 29 to December 3. Entries are still being accepted, and anyone who wants to take part should contact the organisers on 295-4640.

Triathlon Oh brother

With brother Evan opting to sit out this weekend's Rubis Triathlon with a heavy cold, Riaan Naude will start tomorrow's race as the firm favorite.

The women's race will be more open with Karen Smith, Julia Hawley and Karen Bordage all still recovering from their trip to the Hawaii Ironman World Championships.
