Stovell shines for Southampton Rangers

At Southampton Oval, Dion Stovell's century inspired Southampton Rangers to victory over St. David's by eight wickets.

St. David's won the toss and batted first, managing to score 219-8 in their allotted 50 overs.

Lionel Cann scored 49 and Arthur Pitcher scored 26 to lead the St. David's batting line-up.

In response to the St. David's total, Stovell scored 108 not out, while opening partner Keith Wainwright added 46.

CJ Outerbridge, aged just 11, was the pick of the St. David's bowlers, returning figures of two for 42.

Due to heavy rain on Saturday, no Premier League Open cricket was played.

In the First Division, Willow Cuts defeated Flatts Victoria by 116 runs. Batting first, Cuts were bowled out by Flatts for 250 runs and then returned the favour by bowling out Flatts for 134.

In the other First Division game yesterday, Bailey's Bay defeated Somerset Bridge by 180 runs. Bay batted first and posted 219 in their allotted overs. They then bowled Somerset Bridge out for a meagre 39 runs.

Devonshire Rec. 249-8

Azeem Pitcher led Somerset Cricket Club to victory over hosts Devonshire Rec. by five wickets yesterday.

Pitcher scored 112 not out to guide the West Enders to the required total of 249 with seven overs to spare.

Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Devonshire scored 249 for eight in their allotted overs with Ricardo Brangman Sr. leading their batting card with 52.

Dennis Williams and Stephen Bremar chipped in with 51 and 40 respectively.

Jordan DeSilva took two for 36, while Hasan Durham took two for 33 to lead Somerset's bowling attack.

In reply to Devonshire's total of 249, Somerset passed the score with five wickets in hand, ending on 253.
