While a hole-in-one might be the highlight of many amateur golfers' career, few get to enjoy the experience.

So when 12-year-old Sam Curtis aced the 17th at Mid Ocean Club on Wednesday, it was cause for special celebration.

He achieved what no other in a generation of family golfers could boast, dating back to his grandfather late Lt. Col. Cragin Curtis, commander of the Bermuda Regiment, and father Harry.

Curtis junior, who resides both on Harbour Road, Warwick and also in Summit, New Jersey, used a three-wood to fire the perfect shot.
