Mitchell wins Bermuda Open

Jordan Mitchell shot a final round four-over par 75 to win the Bermuda Open at Port Royal Golf Course yesterday.The American began the day with a five shot lead over Brennan Webb, and eventually won by two shots over his compatriot who could only managed a one-over 72.Mitchell finished five-over for the tournament and marked his first time in Bermuda with a solid performance on a tough Port Royal course that gave very little away.Bermuda professional Daniel Augustus finished third after a final round 71, which left him 13-over for the tournament, seven shots behind Webb, who was runner-up for the second year running.In the men's amateur division, overnight leader Scott Clark had his worst round of the tournament yesterday, shooting a seven-over 78, but still finished 10 shots clear of runner-up Jarryd Dillas, who was 27-over par for the four days.Clark's triumph capped a perfect week for the American, who was celebrating his 50th birthday this week, and last played in the tournament 28 years ago.The loss of Ebonie Burgess with a wrist injury all but handed the women's title to Katrin Burnie, and she made no mistakes in the final round to win ahead of Elizabeth Parsons.Hav Trott successfully defended his senior men's championship, beating Terry Mullan into second by nine shots, while Synda Perry won the senior ladies title.
