Young Men’s Social Club Lady Bluebirds kept their unbeaten record intact during weekend netball action at Bernard Park but only just.

The Senior Winter League leaders were held to 45-45 draw against third placed Smooth and Easy Tigers in an evenly fought contest that neither team were able to grasp by the scruff of the neck.

It was the first time this season Lady Bluebirds had failed to take maximum points from a match.

Goal shooter Danielle Raynor led Lady Bluebirds’ scoring with 38 points while Ebonie Burgess added eight.

Breathing closely down Lady Bluebirds’ necks are second-placed New Life who thrashed North Village Lady Rams Too 60-15.

Deborah DeShields poured in 42 points to top the New Life scoring while Zariah Amory led the Lady Rams Too, scoring with two shots.

New Life remain one point behind Lady Bluebirds with a handful of matches left in the 2011/12 campaign.

Elsewhere, Signworx solidified fourth spot in the standings after edging Young Men’s Social Club Blazing Bluebirds 45-40 in another evenly fought battle.

Diara Benjamin led Signworx’s victory charge with 34 points.

The remaining match saw Chenzira Lightbourne bag 22 points to lead North Village Lady Rams to a 58-16 win over cellar dwellers Devonshire Colts Warriors.
