Saltus sets the pace for leaders

Past Bermuda Netball Association president Debra Saltus led Breakers to a comfortable win against Public Works earlier this week.

Summer League pace-setters Breakers thrashed Public Works 39-13 at Bernard Park earlier this week to stretch their unbeaten streak to five games.Guiding Breakers to victory was past Bermuda Netball Association president Debra Saltus who poured in 22 points.The evergreen Saltus was ably assisted by Darrika Woodley-Simons who chipped in with ten points to help keep her team on course for league supremacy.Kristin Holman replied with 12 points for winless Public Works who remain anchored at the bottom of the eight-team standings.Keeping pace with the leaders were second-placed PHC Lady Zebras who got past BMA 33-21.Vernicka Symonds led the Zebras, scoring 30 points.Losing ground were third-placed PWC who slumped to a 24-20 loss against lowly Family.Jennifer Simmons led the PWC scoring in a losing cause with 18 points.Tuesday’s remaining Summer League fixture saw Spacehoppers thump St George’s 49-18.Diane Moore led Spacehoppers’ victory charge with 38 points while Mel Brown added ten points.
