Barnes records six wins in karting racing

Scott Barnes managed six heat wins during weekend karting racing

Scott Barnes dominated the last round of Karting at Bermuda Motorsports Park, taking the chequered flag in six heats spread over two classes.Barnes won all three heats contested in both the TAG Senior and 125cc Shifter Classes to cap a superb weekend of competition.He currently leads the 125cc Shifter Class and is fifth in the Senior TAG Class.Also in dominant form was Junior Stock Clone Class (10-15 age group) who managed two firsts on the day in his respective class.Owen DeCosta won the remaining Junior Stock Clone Class heat respectively and also posted a second and third on the day. DeCosta currently leads the Junior stock Clone Class 910-15 age group) by a 15-point margin over nearest rival Corey Lewis.Ryan Lopes won all three heats contested in the two-driver Junior Modified Clone Class (10-15 age group). Lopes currently leads his respective division by a 28 point margin over Zanardi Daley.Others impressing at the racetrack included Senior TAG Class points leader David Barbosa who managed two seconds while Bermuda Karting Club president Jason (Skuzzie) North posted a second and third respectively.Lewis was also among the weekend’s most consistent drivers, posting two seconds and a third in the Junior Stock Clone Class (10-15) age group).Karting racing is due to resume on November 4.
