Netballers lose again

Bermuda’s netballers suffered their third loss in the World Youth Championships in Glasgow, Scotland yesterday, going down 62-32 to Northern Ireland who picked up their second win in the tournament.Bermuda, who beat Malta to record their first win on Monday, had no answer to the Northern Ireland shooters who had a 91 percent accuracy in the first quarter. Danielle Oniya for Bermuda also had a good opening 15 minutes but received half the amount of chances due to Ireland’s strong mid court defending of the through ball.Despite trailing, Bermuda did not give up easily and the introduction of Akeyla Furbert provided a fresh set of legs as she donned the WA bib and helped keep Bermuda to within 11 points of their opponents. However, Northern Ireland stormed the last quarter and won 18 of the last 21 points to seal a comfortable win.
