Daniels stuns Carruthers

Vernon Daniels beat Simon “Stubby” Carruthers 4-0 to win the FA Cup of Darts final.

The final was an epic war of attrition between two stalwarts of Bermuda darts, (with nine WDF World Cup appearances between them).

Carruthers got to the double first in the opening leg, only for Daniels to show his classy finishing after his opponent's finishing woes.

This proved to be the same in Leg 2 and Daniels took a 2-0 Lead.

Leg 3 was a tight affair, with Daniels hitting double 9 for a three-leg advantage.

In what turned out to be the final leg, Daniels showed his fishing prowess again hitting 133, attempting his 164 finish, to set-up 31, which he duly hit with his next two darts — single 15 and double 8 for the sweep.

Leading man: FA Cup of Darts winner, Vernon Daniels
