Goals galore on the court

There was goals galore in the Bermuda Netball Association Senior League as Lindo’s Tigers clinched a thrilling 34-33 victory over North Village Lady Rams at Bernard Park yesterday.

In what was the only senior match of the day, Jahkenya Trott and Charlene Gomez found their goalscoring touch, scoring 23 and 11 goals respectively to guide Tigers to the win. Nicole Smith stepped into the void of injured leading scorer Jahtuere Trott, scoring 18 goals for the Lady Rams but her efforts were ultimately to prove in vain. Darrika Simons and Chaquita Simmons added the other Rams goals.

There was also no shortage of goals in another action packed day in the Digicel Bermuda Junior Netball League.

In an all North Village affair in the Under-12 Division, Lady Rams White and Lady Rams Red shared the spoils following an entertaining 9-9 draw. Jazya Brimmer Peets impressed for the Reds soring six goals, with Xaana Greene and A’miah Moore madding the remaining goals. On the score-sheet for the Whites were Aniyah Swan, Ra’eesah Robinson and Carleigh Rodney.

Meanwhile Phoenix Sparks proved too strong for Storm as they secured a comfortable 10-1 win. Khylie Smith, Sydney Santo, Uni Simmons, Sanaa Grant, Hailey Trott and Skye Charles all got the scoresheet, while Jayunae Bailey scored the Storm consolation.

In the Under-16 Division, Storm Lightning hit top form with Elishae Smith impressing in a 40-6 rout of North Village Lady Rams White. Smith dictated much of the match and scored 10 goals, while Amaiah Butterfield showcased her shooting prowess with 21 goals. Asrael Basden and Kemiyah Butterfield also grabbed four goals apiece, while Gabriella Romaine and Sanaa Berkeley were on target for the Whites.

Kacey McGowan gave an impressive display for Phoenix Fire, where goals from kKxiyae Gibbons and Nisaiah Berkeley guided them to a 30-13 success against North Village Lady Rams Red. Rhiannon Higgins and Coriah Simmons got themselves on the score-sheet for the Lady Rams Red.

A 12-goal haul from Kammie Mills proved decisive as Warriors secured a hard-fought 15-13 win over Storm Thunder. Arianna Sabir scored the remaining goals for Warriors, while Amayah Burt, Makaylie Smith and Jaelyn Rewan were all on target for Storm Thunder.
