Correia set for challenge finals
Philip Correia has been rewarded for his strong results with an invitation to compete in the FEI World Jumping Challenge finals in Quito, Ecuador, in September.
Correia and his stallion Emerson came first in the category A division (1.20-1.30 metres) of Regional Zone 10, which also includes Barbados and the Dominican Republic. He placed 24th overall out of a field of 278 competitors from around the world.
Correia, who won a silver medal at the finals in Rabat, Morocco, in 2016, will face some of the world's best riders at the event, which runs from September 9 to 15. The invited riders will be required to compete on borrowed horses from the host nation.
Although 278 competitors competed in the 1.20-1.30 height division, only the top two riders from each of the ten regional zones have been invited to take part in the finals.
