Next week’s Lumina Festival has secured the support of the financial services regulator the Bermuda Monetary Authority for the second annual Financial Literacy Summit.

The event will take place on Friday, September 25 from 8:45am to 5:30pm. The event will be followed by the Networking Happy Hour sponsored by CG Insurance running from 6pm to 8pm.

“We are excited to engage in initiatives that empower individuals to make informed financial decisions, participate in modern markets, and protect themselves from scams and misinformation,” Christopher McGrath, Director of Supervision (Conduct Regulation) at the BMA said.

“The BMA is committed to advancing programmes that increase awareness and support a cross-section of the community. Through sponsorship of events like the Financial Literacy Summit, we aim to reduce barriers to financial success and empower individuals to engage knowledgeably and confidently with financial institutions.”

In addition to the regulator’s financial support, Mr McGrath will be representing the BMA in one of the Financial Literacy Summit’s panel discussions, entitled “Building a better relationship with your banking partner”.

The Financial Literacy Summit will be hosted at the National Museum of Bermuda in Dockyard.

It will feature panel discussions, workshops and interviews with financial experts and successful entrepreneurs, including keynote speakers Armando Pantoja and Bermudian Craig Bridgewater.

The event is also generously supported by the Bermuda Commercial Bank, Bermuda Economic Development Corporation, Ocean Tree Financial Planning, and CG Insurance.
