Burt attends OTs summit in Cayman
Politicians from British Overseas Territories gathered in the Cayman Islands this week for a summit.
David Burt, the Premier, was among those at the event, preparation for a Joint Ministerial Council meeting in London later this year.
The session was hosted by the Cayman Islands Government and was chaired by Alden McLaughlin, the Cayman Islands Premier.
Heads of Government or their delegates from Anguilla, the British Virgin Islands, the Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Montserrat, St Helena, Tristan da Cunha, and Turks & Caicos also attended.
A Government of Bermuda spokeswoman said yesterday: “The purpose of the meeting is to allow pre-discussions at the political level ahead of the annual Joint Ministerial Council meeting with the UK Government later this year in November.
“The JMC in London is the highest political forum between the UK Government and governments of the overseas territories.”
Mr Burt was joined by Kimberley Durrant, Bermuda's UK representative in London.
