Endurance appoints Beine

Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd has announced that Stefan Beine will join the company in the new role of senior vice-president and head of international property catastrophe treaty reinsurance.Mr Beine has extensive experience in the reinsurance industry in a variety of roles focused on catastrophe risk modeling and pricing. He will join Endurance on October 1, 2011, reporting to Stephen Young, global head of catastrophe reinsurance, and will be located in Endurance’s Zurich office.Mr Beine will be joined by Chris Powell, vice-president of property catastrophe reinsurance, who recently transferred to Zurich from Endurance’s Bermuda office.Mr Young said: “We are very pleased that Stefan will be joining our team. We are confident that his strong existing partnerships with brokers and insurers will allow Endurance to further deepen our reinsurance relationships with our important European clients. Stefan has an exceptional reputation as a consultant and as a technical expert in the area of catastrophe science and we look forward to having him bring his unique talents to Endurance and to our global reinsurance clients.”Mr Beine has served as senior director and head of international model solutions at RMS since 2009 where he was responsible for working closely with re/insurers and broker companies to define the market requirements for the development of natural catastrophe risk models and communicate new releases, including the latest RMS version 11 European Windstorm model.Prior to that he was the head of catastrophe modeling at Axis Re where he managed technical catastrophe pricing worldwide. He has also held positions focused on catastrophic risk with Benfield, Guy Carpenter and Gerling Global Reinsurance.
