CATCo expands appointing new group general counsel and company secretary

Bermuda-based specialist ILS and investment management firm, CATCo has appointed a new group general counsel and company secretary.

Judith Wynne, who has more than two decades experience in corporate governance, M&A, investments, legal and compliance, will report to CATCo chief operating officer and chief financial officer, Jason Bibb.

The firm says Ms Wynne will lead CATCo’s global legal, risk and compliance function providing legal support to the board of directors and all business units globally.

Her role will “enhance CATCo’s legal foundation and support the company’s range of investment products for global investors and retrocessional solutions for the reinsurance industry,” the company said.

“As CATCo continues to expand its retrocessional customers and third party service providers, it is imperative that the strength of CATCo’s legal counsel matches the expanded scope and objectives of the company’s operations,” Mr Bibb said.

CATCo manages $2.3 billion in retrocession reinsurance portfolios for clients around the world, including financial institutions, charities, pension funds, family offices and investment funds.

CATCo Reinsurance Opportunities Fund has also recently launched a new website at www.catcoreoppsfund.com.
