Island reinsurers score well on ROE

RenaissanceRe Holdings ranks highest with a ROE of 18.9 percent. Everest Re Group is next with a ROE of 16.7 percent. Enstar Group ranks third highest with a ROE of 13.5 percent.

Validus Holdings follows with a ROE of 12.4 percent, and Montpelier Re Holdings rounds out the top five with a ROE of 12 percent.

According to SmarTrend, the ROE is a general indication of the company's efficiency; investors usually look for companies with ROEs that are high and are growing.
