Secrett leaves PartnerRe for Lloyd’s

PartnerRe: Bermuda-based reinsurer is losing Brian Secrett to Lloyd's

A top executive at Bermuda-based PartnerRe is to quit his job for a senior role at the Lloyd’s of London financial watchdog.

Brian Secrett, head of catastrophe reinsurance at PartnerRe, is to join the Performance Market Directorate at Lloyd’s, which reviews the market risk and polices individual syndicates.

Mr Secrett will move from PartnerRe’s Zurich office to London.

He has led the catastrophe reinsurance business unit at PartnerRe since 2011, reporting to Emmanuel Clarke, CEO of PartnerRe Global.

He was responsible for PartnerRe’s catastrophe business, which wrote $495 million of gross premiums in 2013, making it one of the biggest portfolios in the market.

It is understood that Secrett’s deputy, Erik Ruettener, will take over his role on an interim basis while PartnerRe looks to recruit a permanent successor.

Mr Secrett will leave PartnerRe at the end of February and join the Corporation of Lloyd’s in March.

He will take on the role of head of class of business in the Performance Management Directorate, reporting to Theresa Froehlich, who heads up underwriting performance.
