BFIS to cap networking series with party

Quick learners: Insurance industry professionals met with students at the latest BFIS speed networking event

An end-of-summer party is to be held by the Bermuda Foundation for Insurance Studies (BFIS) as the finale to a series of networking events for students and professionals in the industry.

BFIS will hold the party on Wednesday, August 12. The event follows a speed networking meeting held at the headquarters of Ace Bermuda last week, where 30 students and 30 insurance experts got the chance to meet each other.

BFIS executive director Cathy Lapsley said: “The comments received from both students and professionals were all very positive, as always.

“We are now seeing students who have graduated and are working in insurance sitting on the other side of the table and they fully understand the effectiveness of these networking events.

“The random contacts that are made can be career changing and we cannot thank the professionals enough for volunteering their time.”

Networking volunteers come from all areas and levels of the insurance industry and related professions and the meetings are sponsored by the Aon Rhondelle Tankard Memorial Fund, named after an Aon insurance employee from Bermuda who was seconded to the firm’s New York office and died in the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centre.
