Argo hires new CRO from Amlin
Insurance and reinsurance firm Argo has appointed a new chief risk officer.
Alex Hindson has joined the company from Amlin, where he had the same role.
Argo chief financial officer Jay Bullock said: “We are excited to have Alex join our management team.
“Alex's strategic leadership and extensive experience in successfully managing risk-related challenges and opportunities for global reinsurance providers will serve us well as we continue to grow in today's complex environment.”
Mr Hindson's role at Amlin involved the Bermuda and Zurich operations of the company.
He has held a number of management roles at Amlin Aon Global Risk Consulting and at UK pharmaceutical firm AstraZeneca.
He has a master's degrees in chemical engineering from the University of Nottingham in the UK and a master's degree in integrated environmental management from the University of Bath, also in Britain.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Risk Management and was chairman of the organisation between 2010 and 2011.
