Aspen Re hires Head from Tokio Millennium

New hire: Aspen Re has recruited Meredith Head from Tokio Millennium Re

Aspen Re has hired Meredith Head from Tokio Millennium Re as its head of North American property catastrophe.

Ms Head will report to Christian Dunleavy, Aspen Re’s chief underwriting officer and chief executive officer of Aspen Bermuda Ltd.

Working with Andrew Mellor, head of international catastrophe, Head will lead the reinsurer’s property catastrophe treaty reinsurance strategy and also Bermuda’s property treaty business.

Ms Head joins Aspen Re from Tokio Millennium Re, where she served as senior vice-president, property catastrophe underwriting. Tokio Millennium Re was acquired by RenaissanceRe Holdings this year.

Before joining Tokio Millennium Re in 2008, Ms Head spent 11 years as vice-president and deputy manager, property catastrophe underwriting at PartnerRe.

She will be based in Bermuda and joins the firm in September of this year.
