First Prev 1 2 Next Last

Two representatives of law firm Appleby are to appear on panels at the annual Bermuda Captive Conference to be held virtually today and tomorrow.

The conference, now in its 17th year, is a leading industry event for captive owners, risk managers and insurance professionals from a variety of international jurisdictions. Appleby has been a silver sponsor since 2008.

Sally Penrose, a partner at the firm, will speak on a panel entitled “Conscious Capital: Determining the Importance and Relevance of an ESG Strategy”, which Appleby said is a growing area of focus locally and globally.

Eduardo Fox, Appleby’s Latin America expert, will moderate a panel entitled “The Use of Captives and the Adaptation of LatAm Clients to the New Normal”.

Ms Penrose heads the firm’s Bermuda regulatory practice, advising clients on an expansive range of regulatory and licensing issues, with a particular focus on economic substance. She has wide corporate experience, acting for corporates on a diverse range of multi-jurisdictional deals, and as a member of Appleby’s global technology and innovation group, provides comprehensive digital asset business advice.

The firm said Mr Fox focuses on corporate and private client and trusts in Bermuda, and for the global Latin American team. He manages the Global LatAm business development team, and serves as official advisor for Latin American affairs to both the Government of Bermuda and the Bermuda Insurance Management Association.
