Axis beefs up capital risk solutions team

After 12 years in the Bermuda office of Axis Insurance, industry executive Jim Parker is on the move.

Mr Parker, a senior underwriter, has relocated to the London office of the specialty insurance business segment of Axis Capital Holdings Limited.

His move is among three appointments made within the capital risk solutions team.

Richard Jelf has relocated from Singapore to London and Shuohan Dai joins as a senior underwriter in Singapore.

The company said that the moves help enhance the unit’s London focus while, separately, continuing to invest in its presence in the Asia Pacific.

Mr Parker and Mr Jelf will focus on growing the project finance and aircraft finance portfolio as well as strengthening existing relationships and driving business growth, Axis said.

They will report to Mark Harwood, capital risk solutions lead underwriter, who is based in London.

Axis Capital, through its operating subsidiaries, is a global provider of specialty lines insurance and treaty reinsurance with shareholders' equity of $5.4 billion at June 30, and locations in Bermuda, the United States, Europe, Singapore and Canada.
