Markel takes on new recruits in local office

Eight Bermudians have joined the Hamilton office of Markel Corporation.

Joining the re/insurance company are Nikara Fraser, director, casualty; Jordan Outerbridge, underwriting support specialist; Jaime Peixoto, director, professional liability; Dominique Richardson, senior underwriter; Lavette Richardson, senior payroll analyst; Geoffrey Robinson, manager, claims; Kandrea Romaine, claims technician; and Assata Wedderburn, senior underwriter.

Approximately 50 people now work in the Markel office on Front Street, the company said.

A Markel spokesman said: “Markel has a commitment to the Bermuda community and is focusing on hiring employees for the long term.

“These individuals are part of Markel’s journey and will be able to develop their expertise to serve the Bermuda area and beyond.”
