Bermuda market veteran Ben Wright has been appointed to the post of senior vice-president, insurance management, at Horseshoe, the Bermudian-based leading ILS specialist and fund administrator.

In his new role, the company said, Mr Wright will be responsible for the delivery of its client-servicing objectives in Bermuda.

Mr Wright joins Horseshoe after 14 years at professional services firm EY, where he most recently served as associate partner, asset management, ILS and insurance.

He sits on the executive committee of the Bermuda chapter of the Alternative Investment Managers’ Association, where he has responsibility for education and research.

Mr Wright’s appointment follows the recent hiring by Horseshoe of Jonathan Sousa as senior vice-president, ILS accounting.

The company said Mr Sousa brings 15 years of auditing, accounting and controller experience to this role where he is responsible for leading and managing the transformation accounting team.

Before joining Horseshoe, Mr Sousa served as controller at Bernina Re Ltd.

Horseshoe, the world’s largest ILS service provider, is an Artex Risk Solutions company.

It was purchased by Artex in 2019 and specialises in insurance management, risk transformation, fund administration, advisory and corporate services.
