Career risk veteran joins board of Peak Capital

Bermuda market veteran Barry Zurbuchen has been appointed as a non-executive director to the board of island-based Peak Capital Ltd, the wholly-owned subsidiary of the Hong Kong-based global reinsurer, Peak Reinsurance Company Limited.

The appointment was effective March 31.

Mr Zurbuchen joins after a distinguished 35-year career specialising in risk management, actuarial analyses and capital modelling.

He was the group chief risk officer and chief pricing actuary of Allied World Assurance Company in Bermuda, spending nearly 15 years with the organisation before leaving in 2017.

"I would like to extend a warm welcome to Barry as a new member of the board of directors of Peak Capital," said Franz Josef Hahn, chief executive officer of Peak Re.

"Barry has extensive experience in the design and execution of enterprise risk management strategies, and I know his contribution to the board will be greatly appreciated as we continue to develop and deepen our insurance-linked securities capabilities."
