Rene Lamer has been appointed as head of reinsurance, Bermuda at IQUW, the property and specialty re/insurer.

Mr Lamer joined the IQUW Bermuda team last November.

The company said IQUW is able to write business in Bermuda through a new cover holder agreement, IQUW Agency Bermuda Limited, which further expands IQUW’s global platform and increases its business remit in Bermuda, allowing the company to write property and specialty reinsurance business on IQUW Syndicate 1856 paper.

IQUW also announced Dan Warburg as its new head of reinsurance, London.

Based in the capital, he will report to Steven Tebbutt, active underwriter IQUW Syndicate 1856 and Stephen Young, group head of IQUW Reinsurance.

The organisation also announced the appointments of industry veteran John Brown as lead underwriter, property, and Stuart Bell as new head of property claims.
