Edward Noonan joins IQUW board

Edward Noonan, independent non-executive director on the IQUW Holdings Bermuda board

Property speciality re/insurer IQUW has appointed Edward Noonan, the former Validus chairman and chief executive, as an independent non-executive director on the IQUW Holdings Bermuda board.

Mr Noonan has more than 40 years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry and is the executive chairman of Core Specialty and served as chairman of StarStone in 2019.

He was co-founder of Validus Holdings, serving as chairman and CEO since its formation in 2005 until 2018.

Mr Noonan joins the IQUW Holdings Bermuda board alongside experienced leaders from across the insurance and reinsurance industry, including IQUW group chief executive Peter Bilsby, group chief financial officer and head of strategy Richard Hextall and industry executive Kevin Kelly, who joined the IQUW board in 2020.

Mr Bilsby said: “I am thrilled to have someone of Ed’s calibre join the IQUW board. We have spent our first two years in business building a diverse portfolio, improving our data capabilities and developing an experienced team of underwriters.

“Ed’s experience and knowledge will strengthen our board, supporting the company through its next strategic phase of growth and innovation.”

Mr Noonan said: “IQUW is an exciting business with impressive growth in an excellent rate environment. I am pleased to join the board of directors and be part of the ongoing success of the business."
