Chris Harris steps down as director of BF&M

Christopher Harris has resigned as a director of BF&M as of Friday, September 15, the board has announced.

Mr Harris joined the board in May 2018 after his stint as CEO of Montpelier Re for seven years, and a long career in the (re)insurance industry.

Mr Harris had been responsible for all aspects of Montpelier Re’s operations in Bermuda, the UK and the US.

He had served on the Montpelier Re board of directors and major subsidiaries, including Montpelier at Lloyd’s. He was also chairman of Blue Capital Reinsurance Holdings.

In a filing with the Bermuda Stock Exchange, board BF&M chairman Anthony Joaquin, commented: “We would like to thank Chris for his significant contribution both as a director and chairman of our Audit Committee. We all wish him the very best in his future endeavours.”

BF&M is the holding company of the BF&M group of companies. The two largest operating companies within the BF&M Group are BF&M Life Insurance Company, a provider of life, health and pensions products, and BF&M General Insurance Company, the general insurer providing all forms of property, casualty, motor and marine products.

The BF&M Group includes several other companies including BF&M Investment Services, BF&M Properties, (including Scarborough Property Holdings and Barr’s Bay Properties) and Island Heritage Insurance Company.
