Bermudian-domiciled Monument Re Limited has appointed Carlo Elsinghorst as group CEO.

He succeeds Manfred Maske, who stepped down from the post. Mr Elsinghorst joined Monument in 2020 as chief executive officer, Ireland, and was appointed group chief financial officer in April 2022.

During his time at Monument, the company said, Mr Elsinghorst successfully led the Irish team through a series of domestic acquisitions and the growing maturity of the organisation.

In his role as group chief financial officer, he has held responsibility for financial and actuarial reporting and operations, treasury, tax, performance management and capital management.

Jonathan Yates, chairman of Monument Re, said: “Manfred joined Monument Re Group in February 2017, when the company was a relatively new venture.

“Over six years of dedicated service, Manfred has played an integral role in creating the market leading business that it is today.

“Together with the senior leadership team, I would like to thank Manfred for his leadership, commitment, dedication and invaluable contribution to the creation of the Monument Re Group. We wish Manfred the best of success in his future endeavours.”
