Elena Talegón joins Sompo
Sompo International, the Bermudian-based global provider of commercial and consumer property and casualty insurance and reinsurance, has appointed Elena Talegón as head of marine insurance for Iberia.
She will be based in Madrid and report to Jamie Cañellas, country manager, Insurance for Iberia.
Mr Cañellas said: “Marine insurance will play an important part in the continuing expansion of Sompo International’s insurance operation in Iberia.
“Elena’s vast experience and knowledge will be valuable assets in delivering on our commitment to serve our Spanish and Portuguese clients with tailored solutions, through a local team.”
Ms Talegón joins from RSA, where she spent the last 12 years as a senior marine underwriter. Before that, she held roles in marine broking with Aon in Madrid and Cooper Gay & Co in London.
