Bermudian-based Hamilton Insurance Group Limited has appointed Jamie Secor as chief underwriting officer at Hamilton Select, its US excess and surplus lines insurer.

Ms Secor reports to Hamilton Select chief executive officer Anita Kuchma, and is based in Hamilton’s US headquarters in Richmond, Virginia.

Ms Kuchma said the promotion is well-deserved: “Since joining Hamilton in 2021, Jamie's knowhow and expertise have proven instrumental in building Hamilton Select.

“I look forward to working with her even more closely as our key E&S underwriting platform continues to thrive.”

Ms Secor has more than 20 years of underwriting and senior management experience.

She commented: “With our experienced and committed team, we look forward to increasing our market penetration in what we anticipate being another robust year in the E&S market.”

She joined Hamilton following a ten-year stint at Kinsale Insurance Company, where she was most recently head of its commercial property division.
