Lombard International US & Bermuda, the provider of private placement life insurance and annuities, has rebranded to Axcelus Financial.

The new name and full rebrand follows last November’s acquisition of the company by an affiliate of BroadRiver Asset Management LP, a specialised asset management firm focused on uncorrelated and insurance-related investments.

Michael Farrell, the newly-appointed chief executive at Axcelus Financial, said: "Axcelus Financial will be a thought leader and go-to partner for the insurance industry.

“We will accelerate our investment in innovative programmes and leverage our 30 years of experience and excellent service to meet client expectations."

As part of its growth strategy, Axcelus Financial plans to strengthen its commitment to flexible and collaborative partnerships with insurance and asset management professionals, expand its product and service features and invest in its employees, technology, and operations.

With more than $13 billion of assets under administration as of December 31, 2023, Axcelus Financial employs more than 100 people at offices in Bermuda, Philadelphia, New York, and Miami.
