Canopius Group, the global specialty insurer and reinsurer, has appointed Valentina Minetti as head of Medical Professional Liability.

The company said Ms Minetti had nearly three decades of healthcare lines and actuarial experience.

She joins from Coverys Syndicate 1975, where she served as active underwriter. Before that, she led Beazley’s US hospitals portfolio.

The company said that Ms Minetti’s appointment accelerated the growth of Canopius’s new medical professional liability division, following the appointments of Ashley Moulton as healthcare underwriter and Alex Tindall as underwriting analyst.
