Compre, the Bermuda-domiciled international legacy group has appointed Zameer Mitha to the newly created role of group commercial director within the group’s business development function.

Mr Mitha, who joined Compre as chief actuary, North America in 2022, will be responsible for business origination in the European and Lloyd’s markets and the group’s strategic market and product development.

Reporting directly to group CEO Will Bridger, he will also work closely with group M&A director Connie Tregidga on the evaluation of Compre’s retrospective reinsurance transactions.

Mr Mitha has more than 20 years’ experience in various leadership roles across actuarial, strategy and underwriting, spanning the UK, Europe and North American markets.

Mr Bridger said: “I am delighted that Zam has agreed to take on the new role of group commercial director at Compre. He has a broad background across several insurance functions and markets that position him extremely well to provide leadership to many of our key client relationships across Europe and Lloyd’s, as well as providing oversight and challenge to our evaluation of transactions. I look forward to working closely with Zam in this new role.”
