Industry veteran Jeremy Johnson has been appointed to the board of directors of CLARA Analytics, the California-based provider of artificial intelligence technology for insurance claims optimisation.

Mr Johnson is the former chief executive officer and board member of Protective Insurance, a publicly traded insurer providing insurance, loss control, and claims capabilities to the transportation industry.

Prior to that, he served as president of US Commercial for AIG and was responsible for underwriting, distribution, claims and operations in the US, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Bermuda.

CLARA said its award-winning platform combines predictive AI, generative AI, and large language models to ingest complex documents including medical records and legal correspondence, extract meaningful details, and deliver actionable insights to claims management personnel.

By ingesting and analysing new information as soon as it is available, the company said, the technology helps claims managers to stay abreast of changes, summarising case status and highlighting salient information.
