The London Market Group has added Sarah Hughes, CEO of Howden Specialty, to their board as a representative of the London & International Insurance Brokers Association.

Ms Hughes was appointed CEO in October after joining Howden Specialty as their global practice leader, Financial Lines, in February 2020.

Sean McGovern, chairman of the London Market Group, said: “Sarah brings a wealth of industry experience gained at several of the largest businesses in the broker marketplace.

“Her expertise will add great strength to the board of the London Market Group as it continues to advocate for the insurance market in a busy election year.”

Ms Hughes added: “As businesses face an unprecedented level of risk beyond their physical assets and services, there has never been a more important time for the insurance industry to prove its importance as an enabler of change.

“Geo-political, climate, cyber and reputational risks all pose real challenges, but also represent an opportunity for the London Market, which has always been a home for innovation, to demonstrate the critical role it can play in developing innovative solutions to solve the big issues impacting business and society.”
