Michael Ward is new Oceanview Re CFO
Oceanview Reinsurance Ltd, a subsidiary of Oceanview Holdings Ltd, has made Michael C. Ward vice-president and chief financial officer.
This appointment follows Oceanview’s recent expansion of its global reinsurance operations with the establishment of Oceanview Secure Reinsurance Ltd in the Cayman Islands.
Mr Ward will oversee Oceanview Re’s finance and reporting functions.
A spokesman for the firm said, with more than 16 years of experience in the reinsurance industry, Mr Ward brings a wealth of knowledge in financial leadership, regulatory reporting, capital management and process optimisation to his new role.
The firm’s executive chairman and chief governance officer Andrew Kanelos said: “Michael’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for Oceanview Re. His expertise in regulatory reporting and capital management will be instrumental as we navigate the evolving regulatory landscape and optimise our capital structure.”
Mr Kanelos said Mr Ward’s leadership would help ensure Oceanview Re maintained its financial strength while pursuing strategic growth opportunities.
“As we continue to expand our global footprint, particularly with our recent launch in the Cayman Islands, Michael’s international experience and deep understanding of diverse reinsurance markets will be invaluable,” said Oceanview Re chief executive officer William Egan.
“His proven ability to implement efficient financial processes and provide strategic insights will support our mission to deliver innovative reinsurance solutions to clients worldwide."
Before joining Oceanview Reinsurance, Mr Ward was financial controller at Argus Group, where he was responsible for financial operations, regulatory compliance and capital management.
