Arch Capital Group Ltd held a private memorial event to honour and celebrate the life of former chief executive Dinos Iordanou in New York on Monday.

Highly regarded throughout the industry, Mr Iordanou died in June at the age of 74.

Family members, close friends and longtime colleagues attended the memorial to pay tribute to Mr Iordanou’s lasting contributions to Arch and the insurance industry at large.

“Dinos was full of life, always generous and an inspirational role model,” said Nicolas Papadopoulo, chief executive, president and chief underwriting officer of Arch.

“We were honoured to help celebrate the impact he had on Arch and the insurance industry as a whole. I know he was very proud of Arch and his legacy is part of our company’s story.”

Mr Iordanou was part of the leadership team that founded Arch in 2001 and he held the position of president and chief executive of Arch Capital Group from 2003 until 2018.

During his tenure, Arch’s footprint grew significantly and he helped lay the critical groundwork that enabled it to rise to its current status as a market-leading insurer.
