Arch Capital Group president Maamoun Rajeh has joined the Insurance Development Forum’s steering committee.

IDF is a public-private partnership dedicated to optimising and extending the use of insurance and risk management.

A spokesman for the forum said Mr Rajeh brings formidable expertise to the forefront of global risk transfer.

Mr Rajeh has held senior leadership positions including chief executive of Arch Re Europe and chairman and CEO of Arch Worldwide Reinsurance Group.

“With deep experience spanning underwriting, strategy and capital deployment, Maamoun brings a powerful perspective on how the industry can respond to increasingly complex and interconnected risks,” a spokesman for IDF said in a LinkedIn post.

“His leadership will be instrumental as the IDF continues to mobilise the insurance sector to close protection gaps and build resilience where it is needed most.”

The IDF has engagements across 32 countries, delivering 45 projects through its working groups and task forces.

Projects span climate and disaster risk modelling, disaster risk reduction, sovereign and humanitarian insurance solutions, inclusive insurance and infrastructure resilience.
