Chubb Bermuda announces two leadership appointments
Chubb Bermuda announced two leadership appointments.
Robert Spurling has been named head of financial lines, Chubb Bermuda. Mr Spurling currently serves as senior vice-president, financial lines underwriter.
The excess liability, professional liability and property insurance provider also announced that David Jenkins has been appointed senior vice-president, head of excess property. Mr Jenkins currently serves as senior vice-president, head of Bermuda property.
In his new role, Mr Spurling will have oversight of Chubb Bermuda’s Financial Lines business unit and will be responsible for the strategic direction and growth of Chubb Bermuda’s financial lines portfolio, manage key client relationships and drive product innovation.
He will also lead a team dedicated to delivering tailored solutions to clients and strengthening Chubb Bermuda’s position in the global market.
“Robert’s strong work ethic and expertise in financial lines make him exceptionally well-suited for this role,” said Richard Porter, executive vice-president, head of liability lines for Chubb Bermuda. “His deep understanding of our portfolio and clients will be invaluable as we continue to advance Chubb Bermuda’s leadership in the market.”
Mr Spurling brings 20 years of insurance industry experience to his new position. He joined Chubb in 2006 as an assistant underwriter, financial lines. Prior to joining Chubb, Mr Spurling held various positions, including Aide-de-Camp to the Governor and lead accountant at Deloitte & Touche LLP.
Mr Jenkins, in his new role, will lead and develop Chubb Bermuda’s property underwriting team, overseeing the strategic growth of the excess property portfolio for large multinational clients.
He will focus on enhancing underwriting capabilities, business development, and further strengthening client and broker relationships across global markets. Mr Jenkins’ appointment is subject to immigration approval.

Mr Jenkins brings more than 30 years of experience across the US, UK and Bermuda insurance markets. He joined Chubb in 2002 following his role as an international account manager at FM Global, where he managed a multinational portfolio specialising in pharmaceutical and automotive business.
