Biltir appoints policy and regulation director
Bermuda International Long-Term Insurers and Reinsurers has appointed Todd Coslow as its new director of policy and regulation.
Mr Coslow, a veteran regulatory and public policy specialist, will lead Biltir’s engagement on regulatory and legislative matters affecting Bermuda's long-term re/insurance sector, working with member companies, regulators and others on policy issues and industry advocacy.
Suzanne Williams, chief executive of Biltir, which represents more than 70 annuity, life insurance and reinsurance businesses in Bermuda, said the appointment comes as regulatory and policy discussions evolve in the sector.
“Todd’s experience navigating complex global regulatory issues, combined with his background working across supervisory authorities and the re/insurance industry, will further strengthen our ability to represent our members,” Ms Williams said.
Biltir said Mr Coslow will also support member committees and working groups, provide analysis of emerging policy developments and help facilitate dialogue between member companies and regulatory bodies.
Mr Coslow said Bermuda plays an important role in the global insurance industry.
“Biltir champions the interests of Bermuda's long-term re/insurance market, and I am excited to be able to contribute to the team's work,” he said.
He joins the organisation with more than 20 years of experience in insurance, financial services regulation, risk management and government affairs. Most recently, he was founder and managing consultant of Cosmo Creek Enterprises LLC, advising banking, insurance and fintech clients on governance, operational resilience and regulatory risk.
Before that, Mr Coslow worked at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, where he led supervisory and policy initiatives covering cybersecurity, third-party services and compliance.
He has also held leadership roles with the International Association of Insurance Supervisors, including chair of its operational resilience working group and co-lead of its fintech forum, working with regulators and policymakers across multiple jurisdictions on supervisory frameworks and risk management practices.
