Everest announces leadership appointments
Bermudian-based re/insurance group Everest announced two key leadership appointments within its Everest Global Wholesale and Specialty business, effective October 1.
Stephen Buonpane has been appointed global head of construction, GWS, reporting to Jason Keen, executive vice-president and chief executive officer of Everest Global Wholesale and Specialty.
In this newly created role, he will lead Everest’s global construction business, driving underwriting strategy, market alignment and broker relationships across key markets.
Additionally, Danielle Stewart has been promoted to president of Everest Evolution, reporting to Lisa Davis, head of North America, wholesale and specialty.
Ms Stewart is currently chief operating officer of Everest Evolution. She will now lead Evolution’s continued development across the US wholesale market, overseeing underwriting, portfolio management, operations and distribution.

“Stephen’s deep construction and casualty experience make him the ideal leader to drive our global construction business.
“Danielle has been instrumental in building Evolution into a differentiated wholesale platform. Her leadership, operational expertise and deep understanding of the market position her well to accelerate the business's next phase of growth.”
Mr Buonpane was appointed president of Everest Evolution in 2024. He previously served as head of Everest’s casualty lines and industry practices business.
Prior to Everest, he held senior construction and casualty roles, including executive vice-president, construction industry practice leader at Chubb.
Ms Stewart joined Everest in 2022 and was appointed COO of Everest Evolution in 2024. She previously served as national head of wholesale distribution for Everest Insurance and held leadership roles at Liberty Mutual.
