Arch Insurance International has promoted Roger Moniz to head of transactional risk.

Mr Moniz is now responsible for growing Arch’s transactional risk portfolio, which provides coverage for representations and warranties, warranty and indemnities and tax insurance risks across Arch’s international platform.

Based in Bermuda, he underwrites a global portfolio, with a focus on risks in North America, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Asia-Pacific and Australia. He reports to Matt Smith, managing director, Arch Insurance Bermuda. He will also work closely with Maggie Munns, head of executive assurance, Arch Insurance International.

Mr Moniz joined Arch in Bermuda in 2021 and, prior to his promotion, was executive assurance underwriting manager. Before joining Arch, he held roles at Aon and RenaissanceRe.

Mr Smith said Mr Moniz’s promotion is very well deserved.

“His underwriting experience supporting brokers and clients through complex merger and acquisition transactions makes him well placed to lead the expansion of our transactional risk portfolio across the international business,” he said. “I have the utmost confidence in his leadership as Arch continues to build its relevance in this sector and respond to the evolving risk landscape.”
