MS Reinsurance has appointed Julien Mollinier as chief underwriting officer for global specialty lines, effective early next year.

Mr Mollinier succeeds Jörg Bruniecki, who became MS Re’s chief underwriting officer earlier this year. Mr Mollinier joins from TransRe, where he was president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and has more than 20 years of experience in reinsurance, financial risks and the wider property and casualty market.

Based in Zurich, he will lead the reinsurer’s global speciality team and oversee its strategic development.

MS Re also appointed Joscelin Burrer as head of financial risks, reporting to Mr Mollinier. Mr Burrer, who is based in New York, had been serving in the role on an interim basis since April.

Pius Leupi has joined as lead underwriter for financial risks in Zurich. He was previously Swiss Re’s head of credit and surety for Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific.

Mr Bruniecki said Mr Mollinier’s strategic, technical and market experience would help strengthen the global speciality lines business.
