Stephanie Williams hopes to inspire others by sharing her story of survival through faith.

The mother-of-three is preparing to release a book, The Journey Towards Transformation: See The Magic Within and Awaken Your Personal Power.

Ms Williams, who wrote it as a manifestation journal, believes it is perfectly timed considering all that 2020 has brought.

“As these are unprecedented times and no one was prepared or ready for this type of experience, it made our struggles, stressors, fears, worries even more intense. I know for myself that this year has been very eventful. I went through a lot of different emotions that I didn't even know existed.

“I definitely stretched and expanded myself. There was no way I was going to allow myself to have a mental breakdown, which could have easily happened as I secretly dealt with anxiety.”

She combined her skills as a social worker and life coach and used a faith-based approach to assist others in finding their own peace and purpose.

“The word manifest, to me, means faith, believing in something that is not our current reality. When I use the word manifestation for my journal, I am speaking from the sense of being able to change certain behaviours that in the past did not serve you in a positive way.

“My hope is that individuals will be inspired, empowered and encouraged to be able to recognise and walk in ownership of their power. The power within us is beyond our wildest imagination. You can be and do anything you put your mind to. As it says in Philippians 4:13: ’I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me’ and in Tomas 8:37: ’Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.’"

In 2018 Ms Williams’s wrote of surviving physical and emotional abuse in International Day of the Girl: A Walk in our Life. Her story was featured in the book alongside the experiences of seven other women.

The Journey Towards Transformation focuses on the healing aspect of her journey – sharing habits that helped her to thrive despite the challenges she faced.

“No matter our circumstances, we will never be determined or defined by what we experience,” she said. “Our experiences strengthen us, purify us, shift us, strip us and prepare us for the beautiful blessing that is ahead. Our future has already been pre-stamped with approval by God. ‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord. ‘Plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’ Jeremiah 29:11.

“This journal will help provide confidence in knowing that you will complete your task, your life's journey, your legacy. You will discover a step-by-step process that provides motivation, affirmations, and a prompted guide to help you uncover your thought process, push fear to the side and make forward movement towards your desired outcome.”

Like many other faith-based creatives, Ms Williams has used this year to focus on the purpose God had for her life. The Journey Towards Transformation is a manifestation of that time spent with God.

“This year has definitely allowed me the moment to be still and let go of control. Life is precious and it taught me the importance of slowing down and not always having the need to keep pushing myself beyond my own limits.

“This year allowed me to truly unmask and be very vulnerable and open about how bad I suffered with anxiety and how my health was deteriorating as a result.

“The journal will allow you to be still and be present in the moment. The journal will allow you to pause and be expressive on how you feel.”
