Tarik Smith, founder of Koom Consulting, is an Environmental Consultant and water management specialist with over 25 years of experience as a researcher, educator, technical consultant and water engineer. Before establishing Koom, he worked for several years as an environmental consultant and field technician in Bermuda. Since then, based in Barcelona, he has worked in projects spanning Europe, East and West Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, and serves as a research fellow for international institutions including UNESCOSOST and EURECAT in Catalunya, Spain. Tarik holds a BSc in Environmental Sciences and an MSc in Environmental Consulting and Water Engineering and regularly consults, teaches and conducts research in Bermuda with BEST, BIOS, Bermuda College and BUEI, among other local entities. An avid fan of all things music, culture, gastronomy and mother nature, Tarik strives to bring a holistic, multidisciplinary approach to the complex challenges of global water management.
