RG Fantasy League: everything to play for in final week

Tottenham need a point to avoid relegation (John Walton/PA via AP)

It all comes down to this. All ten Premier League fixtures kick off simultaneously on Sunday at 11am Bermuda time

With the title race now over, the European places and relegation zone will be the main focus of attention as Tottenham and West Ham are both in danger of the drop.

It is also tight in the RG Fantasy League competition with Jake Fisher’s team Bermuda Blue Army on 2,386 points. That results in a ten-point lead over M. Louise Payne’s Stay Ready 3.0 with Earth, Wind and Maguire, managed by Chris Alexander, a further six points back on 2,370.

Burnley v Wolverhampton Wanderers

Both sides are already relegated and there is very little Fantasy value here.

Prediction: 2-1

Crystal Palace v Arsenal

It is anybody’s guess what two teams line up here with Arsenal in the Champions League final next Saturday and Crystal Palace in the Europa Conference league final on Wednesday

Arsenal defenders have the best record in the league all season but it would be no surprise to see William Saliba and Gabriel rested along with Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka further forward.

Palace are also likely to rest plenty of their first-choice players.

Prediction: 1-1

Manchester City v Aston Villa

According to reports this is Pep Guardiola’s last match in charge of City and they will be playing an Aston Villa team probably filled with hungover players after the won the Europa League on Wednesday.

Erling Haaland is probably the standout captain option of the gameweek if you believe City will win comfortably and the Norwegian needs little motivation to put on a show at the Etihad.

Villa, now in the Champions League next season, have no incentive here and that makes City attackers appealing even at premium prices.

Prediction: 3-0

Liverpool v Brentford

Liverpool are clinging on to a Champions League spot while a win could leapfrog Brentford into a European place.

With uncertainty surrounding the Liverpool future of head coach Arne Slot, he will need to finish the season with a win and it will be interesting what he will do with Mohamed Salah, who will be playing his final game at Anfield.

The Egyptian King will want to sign off in style as will Brentford striker Igor Thiago, who will be a wanted man in the summer transfer window

Prediction: 1-1

Brighton v Manchester United

Michael Carrick will want to finish the season on a high before the team officially announces his two-year contract. Bruno Fernandes has been involved in goals in almost every game down the final stretch and is still a must for your team.

If Villa lose and Liverpool win, sixth place becomes a Champions League spot and Brighton can possibly nab that if Bournemouth lose. Expect them to be going for goals and this to potentially be high scoring.

Prediction: 2-2

Fulham v Newcastle United

Two teams with absolutely nothing to play for. William Osula has been dangerous for Newcastle recently, while Fulham’s Harry Wilson is out of contract in the summer and will look to end on a positive note.

Prediction: 1-2

Nottingham Forest v Bournemouth

Forest have pulled themselves clear of any lingering relegation anxiety but Bournemouth look the better side and are now on a 17-game unbeaten run.

Morgan Gibbs-White has been Forest's talisman and rewards ownership, while Bournemouth's midfield and attack offer good value against a Forest side with limited motivation. Eli Kroupi has scored three goals in Bournemouth’s last four games

Prediction: 1-2

Sunderland v Chelsea

Both sides have a chance of European qualification on the final day. Chelsea beat strugglers Tottenham in midweek and their players will be hoping to impress new coach Xabi Alonso.

Prediction: 1-2

Tottenham v Everton

Spurs sit seventeenth on 38 points and need only a point to avoid relegation as they have a superior goal difference to West Ham.

James Maddison is edging back to fitness and could be given more than 20 minutes to make an impact as he works his way back to fitness.

Everton have nothing to play for and that could work in Tottenham's favour but you can expect them to play defensively and the longer the game stays 0-0 the more antsy the huge Spurs crowd could become.

Prediction: 1-0

West Ham v Leeds United

The most loaded game of the day for pure drama with West Ham knowing they must win to have any chance of avoiding relegation.

Jarrod Bowen is their man in these moments and his 14-point haul against Wolves a few weeks ago proved what he is capable of when the stakes are highest.

El Hadji Malick Diouf has been one of the Hammers' best in recent weeks and is a potential clean-sheet pick if the home side find their best.

Prediction: 1-0

Good luck in the final gameweek. Whatever happens on Sunday, it has been a remarkable season
