The triple captain chip could be considered this week with Manchester City star striker Erling Haaland playing against Coventry this week or it could be saved for when Cole Palmer and Chelsea host Hull in the next round.

Defenders

Lewis Hall (Newcastle, £5 million, v Bournemouth, Saturday)

Newcastle have enjoyed a strong start under new head coach Matthias Jaissle and full back Lewis Hall had an exceptional day at Tottenham, with his 13 defensive contributions leading to their first shutout under the German.

The Magpies face Hull and Coventry either side of the international break, so the English star should be on your radar for impact at both ends of the pitch.

John Egan (Hull City, £4.5m v Aston Villa, Saturday)

Fantasy managers will remember the Ireland international from his time in the Premier League with Sheffield United, where he amassed 133 points in the 2019-20 campaign. The Tigers have kept consecutive clean sheets and he will play a key role if they keep any more. They host a team that have struggled in front of goal, having zero shots on target so far this season.

Maxim de Cuyper (Brighton, £4.7m v Leeds United, Saturday)

Brighton turned to young Belgian left back Maxim de Cuyper to replace a declining Pervis Estupiñan, who signed for AC Milan. De Cuyper has started strongly, so much so that his price has increased. He got two contributions in the home opener, which was also a shutout against Villa. This home game is followed by a visit to promoted Coventry.

Midfielders

Bukayo Saka (Arsenal, £9.5m v Chelsea, Sunday)

Bukayo Saka has recovered nicely from his World Cup exploits and the right winger will be aiming for the perfect late birthday gift of a goal against a London rival. The Gunners have better fixtures after this and Saka has 17 total goal involvements in 26 league matches.

Anthony Elanga (Newcastle, £6m v Bournemouth, Saturday)

Newcastle forward Anthony Elanga could have found a new lease of life, scoring in his first two games against Liverpool and Tottenham. The Magpies also have fixtures against Hull and Coventry either side of the international window. The Swede could be a valuable budget asset in the coming weeks, especially for those who are using their wild card.

Cody Gakpo (Liverpool, £7m v Ipswich Town, Friday)

The Dutch talisman could be shifted to the right flank following the expensive arrival of Bradley Barcola from PSG. The Merseyside club visit Ipswich tomorrow before taking on Fulham and Bournemouth in advance of the international break.

Forwards

Thierno Barry (Everton, £5.5m v Manchester United, Sunday)

Everton only have one recognised striker after selling Beto to Fiorentina and missing out on American No 9 Folarin Balogun, who refused to sign his contract after complications with his medical. The Toffees face Ipswich and Hull either side of the break, so the Frenchman must take his chances when serviced.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Leeds, £6m v Brighton, Saturday)

Calvert-Lewin was one of the main attacking options for the first two weeks this season yet struggled to penetrate for FPL managers. He is still the third most-owned forward and home fixtures with Newcastle and Crystal Palace after this look appealing.

Alexander Isak (Liverpool, £9m v Ipswich Town, Friday)

Alexander Isak has to put a frustrating first season at Anfield behind him and the goal against Forest last week will aid his cause. The Swede has scored four times in two PL games against the Tractor Boys, so anticipate a few chances falling his way on Friday night.
